Charles E. Botsford Jr., 74, of Vader, Wash., passed away Sept. 7, 2022, at home.
He was born Dec. 9, 1947, in Roseburg, Ore., to Charles and Fern Botsford, and grew up working on the family farm. He served in the Air Force with a tour in Vietnam.
Bud worked as a carpenter in Utah for several years, and retired as a self-employed contractor. He moved to Vader from Longview 38 years ago.
Bud enjoyed days on Rife Lake fishing with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and family gatherings in “The Basement”.
He is survived by five children, Lisa Middleton of Kelso, Tammy Rodriguez of Toledo, Charles Botsford III of Covington, Wash., Lia Pretorius of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Robert Hebert of Longview; two siblings; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Judy (McNeil) Botsford on Dec. 11, 2016; a son, Kevin Hebert; and a number of siblings.
A celebration of Bud’s life is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1 at the family home, 715 Main St., in Vader. Bud’s ashes will be scattered near his childhood home.
