Sharon Kay Gustin, 80, of Longview, WA. passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at
Brookdale Vancouver Stonebridge Nursing home.
She was born May 6, 1943 to Charles Edward and Elpha Lucille (Mathers) Sickels.
Sharon was raised in the Cromwell and Stanton areas of Iowa.
She graduated from Stanton High school in Stanton, Iowa, in 1963, she was
homecoming Queen. Sharon married her high school sweetheart and Homecoming King
Richard Warren Gustin, in Villisca, Iowa, The same year.
They raised there family in Longview, Washington and 35 years later they
returned to Iowa to be closer to their aging parents.
Sharon's life was filled with work and her family, she enjoyed gardening and
watching the birds. She made many road trips between Washington and Iowa and
seen all the sites along the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years (Richard Gustin), parents
and her brother Edward Sickels.
She is survived by her 3 sons, Paul Gustin (Rosalia), Patrick Gustin, both of
Kelso and Phillip Gustin (Lisa), of Longview; 6 grandchildren, Rebecca Hasty
(James), Amanda Gustin, Kimberly Gustin, Erika Mcdonald (Brandon), Brittany
Gustin and Tiffany Gustin and 13 great-grandchildren, also survived by brothers
Sydney (Rita), Terry of Iowa and Charles and a sister Corlee Romines of
Washington;
The family will hold a private scattering of ashes at Sharon's favorite place
along the Columbia River.
