Stan was born in Winlock, Washington, June 26, 1936, the youngest of three children. Stan grew up on a farm and enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his horse and playing sports.
After graduation, Stan attended Central Washington University. He worked for Boeing in Everett, WA which led to joining the Air Force for four years on an aircraft assembly line in Limestone, Maine. Returning to Washington, Stan worked for 36 years for the Washington State Game Department, at hatcheries across the state including Tacoma, Arlington, Mossyrock, Concrete, and Cathlamet, advancing to become a regional hatchery manager.
In retirement Stan enjoyed spending time with his family and loved travel, especially snowbirding in Arizona. He could strike up a conversation with anyone, had a good sense of humor and fueled lively exchanges. He served as an ombudsman for 12 years, an EMT, worked at the local food bank and other volunteer roles.

Joined in marriage for 66 years, Marsha and Stan both entered God’s presence within 5 days of each other. Stan and Marsha loved living in the Elochoman Valley and this community for the past 50 years. Please join us for the celebration of Stan and Marsha’s lives at The Bridge Church in Cathlamet on November 23rd at noon. There will be a time of food and fellowship following the service.
